Learn how to adjust your AI agent’s settings for a more personalized call experience. Each option lets you shape responses to align with your business needs.

1. Answer Creativity

  • What it means: This controls how creative or varied the AI's responses should be.

  • How to use it:

    • 1 = More predictable, straightforward responses.

    • 10 = More creative, potentially flexible responses.

    • If you want the AI to stick to strict guidelines, choose a lower number. For more natural, human-like responses, choose a higher number.

2. Context Max Tokens

  • What it means: This determines how much information (context) the AI keeps in memory during a conversation. The more tokens, the more context the AI can remember from previous parts of the conversation.

  • How to use it:

    • A higher number allows the AI to recall more details and provide more accurate answers in a long conversation.

    • A lower number might make the AI "forget" parts of the earlier conversation, useful if you want short, self-contained interactions.

3. Speech Stop Sensitivity

  • What it means: This sets how many words should signal the AI to stop speaking.

  • How to use it:

    • If set to a low number, the AI will pause more often and wait for the user to speak.

    • If set to a higher number, the AI might finish longer phrases before stopping.

4. Answer Length

  • What it means: This limits the length of the AI’s responses by setting an approximate maximum number of words.

  • How to use it:

    • If you want short, concise answers, set a lower number (e.g., 20 words).

    • For more detailed explanations, set a higher number.

5. Silence Message Delay

  • What it means: This sets the time (in seconds) before the AI sends a message like "Are you there?" when there is no response from the user.

  • How to use it:

    • A shorter delay (e.g., 5 seconds) will prompt quicker.

    • A longer delay (e.g., 15 seconds) will give the user more time to respond before the AI follows up.

6. Silence End Call

  • What it means: This setting automatically ends the call if the caller remains silent for a set number of seconds.

  • How to use it:

    • Set this to a lower number if you want to end calls quickly when there’s no sound (e.g., after 10 seconds of silence).

    • A higher number will keep the call active for longer without input from the user.

7. Utterance Detection

  • What it means: This determines how long the AI waits to consider that a person’s spoken phrase (utterance) has ended.

  • How to use it:

    • A lower value (e.g., 500ms) makes the AI respond faster, but may cut off a user mid-sentence.

    • A higher value gives more time to allow the speaker to finish but could introduce a slight delay.

8. Concurrent Answer Generation

  • What it means: This decides when the AI should start generating a response based on how long the pause is between the user’s words.

  • How to use it:

    • A lower value (e.g., 150ms) will make the AI generate answers quickly after brief pauses.

    • A higher value will make the AI wait longer before assuming the user is done talking.

9. Transcribe Filler Words

  • What it means: This controls whether filler words like "hmm" or "uhm" are included in the transcription of the conversation.

  • How to use it:

    • If you want a more detailed, true-to-life transcription, turn this on to include filler words.

    • If you prefer cleaner transcriptions, turn this off so these words are omitted.

These customizable settings put you in control, helping to ensure your AI agent provides effective and smooth interactions on every call.
