Here’s a step-by-step guide for integrating your Google Workspace SMTP with CallFluent:

Step 1: Enable SMTP Relay Service in Google Workspace

  1. Log in to your Google Admin Console:

    • Go to admin.google.com and sign in using your Google Workspace admin credentials.
  2. Access the “Apps” Section:

    • In the Admin Console, click on Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail.
  3. Go to “SMTP Relay Service”:

    • Under Gmail settings, click Routing > SMTP relay service.
  4. Create or Edit SMTP Relay Settings:

    • Add an SMTP relay configuration.
    • Ensure you allow trusted devices or IPs to use this service. If your device or IP isn’t listed, you might need to whitelist it.

Step 2: Set Up App Password (if needed)

If you're not using the relay service and instead directly connecting via smtp.gmail.com, you'll need an app password:

  1. Enable 2-Step Verification:

    • Log in to your Google Workspace account.
    • Go to Security Settings.
    • Enable 2-Step Verification under the “Sign-in & Security” section.
  2. Generate an App Password:

    • Click on App Passwords under the “Security” section. (if you can't find it, search by typing in App Passwords in the top bar where it says Search)
    • Choose Mail as the app and Other (custom) for the device.
    • Generate and copy the app password for later.

Step 3: Gather SMTP Details

  1. Use the following settings:

Step 4: Input SMTP Details into CallFluent

  1. Go to the SMTP Integration section in CallFluent.

  2. Enter the following:

    • SMTP Hostsmtp.gmail.com
    • SMTP Port: Use 587 (recommended) or 465 (as configured).
    • SMTP Username: Your Google Workspace email address.
    • SMTP Password: The app password generated earlier.
    • From Name: The name you want emails to appear from.
    • From Email Address: Your email address.
  3. Click Save Changes.

Step 5: Test the Configuration

  1. Try sending a test email (i.e., a team member invite) from CallFluent to verify the connection.
